The search for a 79-year-old man missing near Balclutha since Wednesday continues.
At least 10 search and rescue teams aided by a helicopter and a drone are looking for any trace of Ian Mathieson.
He was last seen just after 8.30pm on Wednesday in Mill Street, Clinton, apparently disoriented, asking where Romahapa was.
Balclutha police's Senior Sergeant Alastair Dickie said they would be focussing on the waterways and looking at a wider area today, as well as going over areas already looked at.
He said Mr Mathieson was lightly dressed and the possibility of finding him alive became more remote the longer the search went on.
A helicopter was used yesterday to allow search managers to reassess the areas from above, and a drone was also used to check around the Kaihiku River to the Clutha River.
