A search for two boaties in South Otago is continuing on land today, as sea conditions are too rough.
Whetuki Sam Kopua, 77, and Matekino Lucy Burling, 60, failed to return from a fishing trip off the Catlins on Wednesday.
Their five-metre boat was found upturned in the sea off Nugget Point on Thursday.
A drink bottle that may belong to Mrs Burling was found yesterday on the shore between the two mouths of the Clutha River.
Police said they will resume the water search once conditions were calmer.
