A man has been arrested following the death of a man in the inner-city suburb of Auckland.

The man was taken to Auckland Hospital late last night and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police believe he had been assaulted between 6.30pm and 10.30pm.
A group of detectives are at Outhwaite Park in Grafton this morning and the site is taped off from the public.
A man arrested in relation to the death is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with assault.
