A man has carried his dying friend to Auckland Hospital after his attempts to get help failed.
Police were alerted by the hospital about a man wanting help for another man after an assault at Outhwaite Park on Tuesday night .

The assaulted man later died.
Police are treating the death as unexplained, but said there were suspicious circumstances.
Detective Kevin Hooper said the man gave unclear information about where his friend was to hospital staff, and later carried him to hospital, where he died.
He said police were trying determine the exact timings of calls between them and emergency services.
Auckland District Health Board has confirmed that staff immediately called police and ambulance after the man walked into the Emergency Department.
A man appeared in court yesterday in relation to the assault.
