Dargaville high principal in court

1:44 pm on 27 January 2016

The principal of Dargaville High School has taken leave from his job after appearing in court.

David Bargh, 59, appeared in the Whangarei District Court on Monday charged with four counts of being on properties without reasonable excuse.

Police said two of the charges related to Mr Bargh's arrest outside a Dargaville house late on Sunday night, and two related to earlier alleged incidents.

Dargaville High School Board of Trustees chairwoman Kathryn de Bruin said the principal would remain on leave until the charges against him were resolved.

Mr Bargh was bailed to appear in the Dargaville District Court next month.
