An 18-month-old toddler has died after being hit by a vehicle in the south Auckland suburb of Otara this evening.
Police said the boy was taken to a medical centre by family about 5pm, but passed away shortly afterwards.
The Counties Manukau Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was assisting them with their inquiries.
They said the boy's name would be released tomorrow once next-of-kin had been notified.
