One person is dead and two people critically injured following an accident involving a logging truck and a car on State Highway 29 near Matamata.
The accident occurred at 9.20am at the intersection of State Highway 29 and Hopkins Road.

Shift manager at Northern Fire Communications Jaron Phillips said a fully-laden logging truck collided with the car.
Emergency services treated the survivors at the scene and a fire crew used the jaws of life to cut them free before they were airlifted to hospital just after 11am.
Mr Phillips said the driver was able to get out of the logging truck and had been treated for shock.
A section of State Highway 29 is expected to be closed for several hours.
Diversions are in place at the intersection of SH29 and Hinuera Road, SH29 and Totman Road and SH29 and Hopkins Road.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
