Christchurch schoolgirl indecently assaulted

6:34 pm on 19 April 2016

A man is being hunted by police for indecently assaulting a Christchurch schoolgirl.

The police said the 14-year-old was walking outside St Martins School about 11.15am today when a man got out of his car and asked for directions.

They said she apologised for not knowing the way, and was then hugged by the man, who also grabbed her bottom.

He then followed her in his car down Huntsbury Avenue before again indecently assaulting her, this time by lifting up her dress.

The offender was described as Indian, short and tubby, clean-shaven and in his mid to late 40s. He was wearing a checked shirt, business pants and shoes.

His vehicle was described as a silver late-model four-door hatchback.
