Assets have been seized, dozens of people arrested and 17 children referred to Child, Youth and Family (CYF) during a major drug operation in greater Wellington.
Twenty guns, several vehicles, $170,000 in cash and a house were seized during the raids.
Children in the care of accused drug dealers or living in drug houses were referred to CYF, the police said in a statement.
They said they had targeted cannabis growers and methamphetamine dealers throughout the region for the past four months.
As well as seizing assets and cash, they had destroyed 2000 cannabis plants.
A dozen gang members or associates were among the 79 people arrested.
