A man has been shot in the face and leg while camping in Waitohe Valley, Opotiki.
The man was hit by shotgun pellets about 11.45pm yesterday and is receiving medical treatment. He is not in a serious condition.
Police believe there were hunters in the area and are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
