Three people have been arrested after a pursuit through the Waikato saw onions and a glass chopping board hurled at police.
The chase started in Hamilton at about 10:30 last night, when officers stopped a vehicle which had registration plates that did not match the car.
The car took off and the pursuit continued for 24km, until the vehicle was spiked at Taupiri.
Police said items were thrown out of the car during the pursuit - including onions and a glass chopping board - that became embedded in the grill of the following police vehicle.
Three men face charges, including failing to stop, reckless driving, driving while forbidden, and endangering transport by throwing items.
They are due to appear in the Waikato District Court today.
