Police have named the three-month-old baby boy who died in Tauranga on Tuesday night.
He was Richard Royal Arif Tekakahi Winiata Uddin.
His mother brought him to Tauranga Hospital for treatment on Tuesday night, but he died soon afterwards.
Police are treating the death as a homicide.
The post mortem examination has been completed, and police are waiting for the final results
