New Zealand wine industry's Hall of Fame has inducted John Buck from Te Mata Estate winery in Havelock North.
The Hall of Fame is administered by a trust on behalf of Auckland A&P Show's board.
Since 2005, the board has recognised the major contributions that 15 wine makers, viticulturists and wine company executives have made to the industry.
Trust chair Michael Brett says John Buck has done a huge amount for the wine industry.
He says Te Mata Estate has been the standard bearer for the New Zealand industry and its Coleraine red wine, which was first produced in 1982, has brought international acclaim to Te Mata and New Zealand.
