Research by the agribusiness banking specialist Rabobank suggests that wool might finally be back in fashion.

Bank analyst Airlie Hoskins has completed a report on the wool industry, including information relevant for wool producers in both New Zealand and Australia.

She says the demand for New Zealand crossbred wool in continental Europe and the United States is somewhat lacklustre at present, but exports to China since July last year are up 15%.

Ms Hoskins says this presents a very good prospect for New Zealand wool provided there is investment in proactive marketing to secure that opportunity.
