A Federated Farmers leadership dispute in Southland has been settled.
A rift between farming representatives emerged earlier this month when the region's president, Hugh Gardyne, spoke in favour of a Southland Regional Council dairy conversion policy to which Federated Farmers was opposed.
The issue was settled at a meeting on Tuesday chaired by national president Bruce Wills.
Mr Gardyne will continue as the Southland president until the regional annual meeting on 9 May.
