The Government is investing more than $11 million in a beef partnership that is designed to boost export meat sales.

The Primary Growth Partnership will fund half of a programme worth nearly $24 million, led by Brownrigg Agriculture and Firstlight Foods, to produce high-value marbled beef for premium markets.

Primary Industries Minister David Carter says the beef sector is pivotal to the success of the country's economy.

He says the Government has invested more than $250 million in primary growth partnership programmes to lift economic growth through primary sector research and innovation.
