1:46 pm on 11 September 2012

The Beekeepers Association has taken the first step towards signing an industry agreement for biosecurity preparedness and response.

The agreement is a significant change to New Zealand's biosecurity system and gives primary industries an equal say in the decision making process.

President Barry Foster says the association has agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry for Primary Industries, while it explores what value the agreement may be.
