South Island wool prices hold ground

6:35 am on 23 November 2012

Wool prices have mostly held their ground at this week's sale of South Island wool.

New Zealand Wool Services International reports that fine merino wool prices fell 3% - 4% compared with the last South Island sale a fortnight ago, bringing them into line with Australian prices.

But mid-micron and cross-bred wools matched or gained slightly on last week's North Island prices.

More than 80% of the 10,500 bales on offer were sold.
