Rare pest butterflies are threatening crops in the Nelson-Tasman region.
The Department of Conservation says the butterflies pose a serious threat to commercial and home brassica crops as well as native cresses.
People are being asked to look out for great white butterfly caterpillars and eggs in their gardens, particularly in Nelson city and Richmond.
