Emergency feed arrives in Napier Wednesday

3:37 pm on 17 April 2013

The latest bulk shipment of emergency feed from the South Island is due to arrive in Napier on Wednesday.

The rural support trust co-ordinator in Hawke's Bay, Mike Barham, said about 60 farmers were lined up to take the ryegrass straw from Canterbury, and further shipments were being organised.

"We've got another 30 containers coming in ... so that's all got a waiting home for it.

"We're working with Hamburg Sud at the moment to get confirmation of some more containers and I also had confirmation from Chatham Islands Shipping that we can get a boat with 900 bales on 24 May."
