Latest export statistics confirm the surge in growth in New Zealand's meat trade to China.
Figures compiled by the Meat Industry Association show China has moved further ahead of Britain as the biggest single sheepmeat market by volume, after overtaking it late last year.
Last month it also topped the UK by value as well.
Association chief executive Tim Ritchie says the rise in beef exports to China this year has been even more spectacular, tripling in value to almost $38 million.
In contrast, beef shipments to Indonesia have fallen to 20% of where they were in 2010.
