Persistence has paid off for the winner of this year's Young Farmer contest.
Tim van de Molen, representing the Waikato-Bay of Plenty region took the title after two days of intensive competition between the seven regional winners in Auckland.
Mr van de Molen, an ANZ bank agri-manager and farm owner from Hamilton, was runner up in the 2011 Grand Final.
