The Prime Minister has officially launched a new initiative at Massey University which aims to dramatically increase the value of food and drink exports.

Food Innovation New Zealand is a collaboration between the university, Fonterra, Agresearch, the Riddet Institute and Plant and Food Research.

The partnership, which represents more than 600 researchers and academics, is the largest group of food innovation experts in the southern hemisphere.

The group's aim is to double the value of food and drink exports to more than $40 billion over the next ten years.
