Turners & Growers expects a crash in prices for green kiwifruit in the next few years.
The prediction is included in a letter sent by the produce company to all growers about Zespri's monopoly of exports to all countries except Australia.
T & G chair Tony Gibbs says the predictions are based on a worldwide increase in kiwifruit production - particularly in Italy and Chile. He says kiwifruit is going to be more and more of a commodity.
