August marks the start of an animal rights campaign against factory farming.
Eliot Pryor is a campaign director for Save Animals From Exploitation, or SAFE, and he says August is stop factory farming month and the theme for this year's campaign is 'don't be in the dark'.
He says this month's campaign is all about connecting with consumers.
"It's about consumers being able to make choices every day, it's about choosing the products that you buy."
Mr Pryor says the problem with factory farming is that it's hidden and if consumers saw on the packet where the animal came from and what it looked like, they would not buy factory farm products.
