New Zealand wine wins trophies at international competition

The strength of New Zealand's wine diversity has been demonstrated at one of the leading international wine competitions.

At the British-based International Wine and Spirit Competition, New Zealand wines won the Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Trophies.

The top Sauvignon Blanc award went to The Crossings Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013.

Ceres Composition Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010 took the trophy for that variety.

Jules Taylor Wines Marlborough Chardonnay 2012 was the other big winner.

Among the 11 gold medals award to New Zealand wines were outstanding medals for two Nelson wines, a Gewürztraminer and a dessert Riesling.
