Little movement in wool prices

6:11 am on 5 March 2010

There was little movement in prices at this week's wool sale. Fewer than 6500 bales were on offer at the auction of North island wool in Napier: 85% were sold.

New Zealand Wool Services International reports that a limited amount of better style coarse crossbred fleece attracted the strongest bidding, lifting the price by 3%.

Prices for other wool types, stayed firm or shifted by no more than 1%.

Next week's combined North and South Island sales will be a lot bigger, with more than 28,0000 bales up for auction.
