2:32 pm on 5 November 2013

The Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission is meeting in Rotorua this week.

The commission meets every two years and it's been more than 50 years since it held its last session in New Zealand.

Over the next four days delegates from 29 different countries will be discussing how forests can contribute to the economic development and prosperity of countries.

Forestry is New Zealand's third largest export earner. It's worth $4.3 billion a year.
