New Zealand shearing representative Rowland Smith has won the North Island Open Shearing Championship for a third year in a row.
He retained the title after a close tussle with fellow Hawke's Bay shearer John Kirkpatrick at the Rangitikei Shearing Sports in Marton during the weekend.
Mr Smith will also defend his Golden Shears and New Zealand Championships titles this year.
