More than 150 farmers, Maori land owners, scientists, and representatives from government agencies and agri-businesses have signed up for the second national conference on biological farming, starting in Rotorua on Thursday.
Conference co-ordinator Professor Guna Magesan says interest in biological farming systems is growing in New Zealand, especially among Maori farmers and growers.
The conference will hear about the benefits, as well as the challenges, of biological farming, which is a mixture of conventional and organic farming, focusing on the health of the soil.
