Gisborne couple take Glammies

Sara and Fraser Briant have taken out this year's lamb awards, known as the Glammies.

The couple run a 650ha sheep and beef farm in hill country near Gisborne, and their Coopworth lambs were judged to be the finest-tasting lamb in the land at the Upper Clutha Show at Wanaka.

Mrs Briant says they entered the competition for fun and never thought they would win.

"The cool thing is Fraser's his biggest critic," she says, "and it was nice just to get a bit of recognition that he's on the right track and doing a really good job."

Mrs Briant says the stock were all finished on hill-country pasture.
