The Ministry for Primary Industry says only one export market so far has imposed any restrictions on New Zealand produce following the Queensland fruit fly incursion.

The pest's invasion in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn has resulted in Tonga blocking any fruit from Auckland.

The total number of flies found now sits at 14, but over the weekend more larvae were found in fruit collected from two properties near the original infested site.

The ministry said four properties in the exclusion zone were being targeted with foliage spraying and insecticide granules.

It said the operation was expected to take several months and investigations into how the fly got into New Zealand were continuing.
