The Central District Field Days are running at Feilding's Manfeild Park over three days.

Event manager Cheryl Riddell said that with more than 35,000 are expected to attend and more than 560 stalls, it would be the biggest year yet.

She said farm machinery demonstrations, wood chopping and fencing competitions, and food zones were all familiar highlights, though new attractions were also on the cards.

Ms Riddell said food innovation and researchers with FoodHQ will show what work is being carried out in New Zealand.

An a new promotion, Get Ahead, is being run for students who may want to enter the agriculture industry
