A survey of companies in the Waikato Innovation Park shows they have had significant financial growth.
Most of the 34 companies are associated with the agricultural sector.
The survey shows that their collective turnover is up by 18 percent on a year ago.
More than three quarters reported financial growth averaging 33 percent, which they have achieved with the same or fewer staff.
And more than three quarters of the companies said they were actively engaged in research and development of new products or services.
