How are we doing? NZ Winegrowers asks

9:37 am on 28 April 2011

Winegrowers are being asked to assess the performance of their industry body as it nears its 10th anniversary.

New Zealand Winegrowers was formed at the beginning of 2002 to represent the interests and activities of its 1800 grape-grower and winery members.

The chair, Stuart Smith, says that over the past nine years the organisation has surveyed its members on a range of matters like annual vintage and excise policy but has never done a comprehensive stocktake of its performance.

He says there's been significant change within the wine sector in the past decade and the organisation needs to change with it.

Mr Smith says the survey will be on the New Zealand Winegrowers website from Friday.
