Seven months of training and dedication have paid off for 27-year-old shearer, Ivan Scott, who's now the holder of a new lamb shearing record.
The Christchurch based Irish shearer had to shear more than 731 lambs on Friday to break the eight hour strongwool lamb shearing record, held by New Zealander Justin Bell.
He finished with a tally of 736 sheep, just five above the old record.
