NZ meets Taiwanese organic standard

New Zealand organic exports to one of its growing overseas markets will continue, as a result of Taiwan accepting this country's organics standards as equivalent to its own.

New Zealand is one of the first countries to be recognized as having standards that meet Taiwan's new organic regulations that took effect last month.

Dr Jon Tanner, chief executive of the national organics body, says the Taiwanese organic market has been growing by about 20% a year, with imports providing 70% of Taiwan's organic food.
