Crafar receiver extends unconditional sale deadline

6:39 am on 1 February 2012

The receiver for the Crafar farms has extended the deadline for the sale of the 16 farms to Chinese investor Shanghai Pengxin to become unconditional.

The deadline was originally set for Tuesday but Korda Mentha says it's agreed to extend the unconditional date by two days to 2 February.

The extension is to allow the buyer to deal with some final matters in its Overseas Investment Office approval.

The new deadline is the day before a New Zealand group of farming and iwi interests seeking to block the sale goes to the High Court to argue its case for a judicial review.
