White Ferns suffer heavy loss to England

9:44 am on 4 March 2012

The England women's cricket team have beaten the White Ferns by 60 runs in the second One Day International at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln to secure an unassailable two nil lead in the best of three series.

Rain shortened the match to 26 overs a side, but England still managed to post New Zealand an imposing 224 to win, with Charlotte Edwards posting an incredible 137 not out after 26 overs.

A number of the White Ferns made starts, but it was only Amy Satterthwaite who managed to push on with 69.

The White ferns were all out for 164 on the final ball of the innings.

The third and final ODI will be played on Monday.
