No European season for stricken Rangers

The stricken Scottish football champions Glasgow Rangers have been told there's "no realistic prospect" of being allowed to play in European competitions next season.

Joint administrator Paul Clark says Rangers have virtually no chance of meeting UEFA's criteria for a licence before the deadline of March 31.

Rangers are also awaiting the verdict of a tax tribunal that could leave them with a bill of up to 140-million dollars.
