The New Zealand Cricket Players' Association boss says he doesn't see any similiarities between Britain's Sunday Times investigation into match fixing and the News of the World sting which led to three Pakistani cricketers being jailed last year.
The London newspaper printed a front page article yesterday saying its reporters infiltrated a network of bookmakers and filmed meetings with people who boasted of recruiting players including from New Zealand to throw games.
It says the International Cricket Council is to investigate the allegations.
New Zealand Players' Association chief Heath Mills says the infamous News of the World expose was a story backed with hard facts, but he says yesterday's Sunday Times article merely quotes bookmakers of ill repute.
Mr Mills says New Zealand players he's spoken to are shocked by the claims.
