Proteas easily win second test at Seddon Park

South Africa has humilated New Zealand in the second cricket test, winning by nine wickets on the third day in Hamilton to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

The Proteas captain Graeme Smith hit the winning runs with a four, ending 55 not out as his side finished their second innings on a very comfortable 103 for one to coast to the crushing victory in less than 90 minutes.

Hashim Amla was 46 not out.

The Black Caps were bowled out for 168 shortly after lunch with man of the match Vernon Philander nabbing a six-wicket bag with top-scorer Kane Williamson going for 77 just after lunch, as well as Mark Gillespie for 14 and Chris Martin for a duck.

Brent Arnel was left eight not out.
