Cronulla pulled off a stunning upset over the National Rugby League premiers Manly last night, holding on for a 17-14 win to open their account in 2012.
Revelling in wet, greasy conditions the Sharks led 17-nil at halftime, but they were given an almighty scare by Manly who scored three tries in 14 minutes in the final quarter of the match.
The victory ended a 10-match losing streak for Cronulla.
The Canterbury Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm are on top of the table with maximum points after three rounds.
The Warriors are 11th with one win and two losses.
