While Carlos Tevez made the headlines on his first English Premier League football game for Manchester City, supplying the winning pass in City's 2-1 come-from-behind home win over Chelsea to keep the pressure on crosstown rivals United, there were plenty of other twists on Thursday.

Arsenal took full advantage of Tottenham's latest slip to move into third, one point clear of their London rivals with a 1-0 win at Everton, while Spurs needed a stoppage time equaliser to rescue a home draw against Stoke and avoid a fourth successive defeat.

Queen's Park Rangers climbed out of the relegation zone with a sensational 3-2 come-from-behind home win over Liverpool in stoppage-time.
