The in-form All Black centre Conrad Smith says being handed the Hurricanes captaincy is why he's hit the ground running this Super Rugby season.
Smith's form seems unchanged from the World Cup while fellow internationals such as Ali Williams and Piri Weepu are struggling with their early-season performances.
Smith scored two tries for the Hurricanes against the Blues at Eden Park on the weekend, including the 80th-minute matchwinner, and he's sure that being the skipper has played a huge part in his form.
