The Perth Wildcats import Kevin Lisch has won the Australian National Basketball League's Andrew Gaze Trophy for the Most Valuable Player of the season.

The American guard took the award after polling 105 votes during the course of the regular season to finish ahead of Cairns Taipans guard Jamar Wilson on 97.

New Zealand Breakers' Cedric Jackson came fourth with 86.

Lisch led the NBL in scoring at 17.6 points per game and also averaged 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game, appearing in all 28 of the Wildcats matches.

The NBL's MVP award is named after Melbourne Tigers great Andrew Gaze, with the trophy being a specially commissioned sculpture of Gaze in action.

The Breakers Kirk Penney won the award in 2009.
