Champion sire Montjeu dies in Ireland

The champion European thoroughbred stallion Montjeu, a major influence on the New Zealand breeding industry for the past decade, has died at the Coolmore stud in Ireland.

The 16-year-old stallion was best known for his victories in the 1999 Prix de L'arc de Triomphe, and the French and Irish Derbies, among his six group one victories.
