Henson sacked by Cardiff after drinking incident

The former Wales rugby centre Gavin Henson has been sacked by his Cardiff Blues club following a drinking incident on a flight home from Glasgow at the weekend.

The 30-year-old admitted drinking on the early morning flight home after the Blues 31-3 loss to Glasgow Warriors, and despite apologies to all concerned, Cardiff have torn up Henson's contract as a clear message of zero tolerance to that sort of behaviour.

Henson, who's made more headlines off the field than on it, was released late last year by the top French club Toulon following unconfirmed media reports that he'd fought with a team-mate.
