There are just two boats still racing on the fifth leg of the Volvo Ocean race after previous leader Groupama of France broke a mast.
They have suspended racing while they try to stabilise the rig.
Groupama was holding a narrow lead over PUMA in the leg from Auckland to Brazil when the incident was reported to Race control.
Telefonica is the only other boat still racing.
Team New Zealand's boat camper is in a Chile port getting repairs on a broken bulkhead.
