The Bay Hawks defeated the Otago Nuggets 99-76 last night to extend their unbeaten start to the national basketball season to six games.
With the scores level at 53 all in the third period, the Hawks turned it up in the last sixteen minutes to outscore the visitors 46-23.
Veteran Paora Winitana was the highest scorer for the Hawks with twenty, fourteen of which came in the second half.
Both teams will meet again this Friday in Dunedin.
